Wagering Requirement Calculator

Total to wager = wagering base × multiple. The base is the bonus alone, or the deposit plus the bonus, as the terms say. Enter an offer below to see the total, how many bets that takes at your stake, and how many bets per day the time limit leaves you.

Load real terms

Each example below is a casino's stated deposit-bonus requirement, with its time limit and maximum bet where the terms give them. Loading one fills the multiple, base, days and (when the terms state it in CAD) the max bet. Your deposit, match and cap stay as you typed them, because offers differ.

The formulas

  1. Bonus = deposit × match % ÷ 100, but never more than the bonus cap in the offer.
  2. Wagering base = the bonus, or the deposit plus the bonus. The terms say which. "35 times the initial amount of the deposit and bonus" and "35 times the bonus amount" are very different offers.
  3. Total to wager = base × multiple.
  4. Bets needed = total ÷ your average bet. More bets means more time, and more exposure to the house edge.
  5. Bets per day = bets needed ÷ days in the time limit. If the number looks unrealistic for how you play, the bonus is likely to expire.
  6. Expected loss (only if you enter an RTP) = total × (100 − RTP) ÷ 100. It is an average over many players, not a forecast for you.

The line "equals, on the bonus alone" converts a deposit + bonus requirement into the multiple it would be on the bonus, so two offers can be compared like for like.

Questions

How do you calculate a wagering requirement?
Multiply the wagering base by the multiple. The base is the bonus alone or the deposit plus the bonus, depending on the terms. A $100 bonus at 35x needs $3,500 in bets; a $100 deposit plus a $100 bonus at 35x needs $7,000.
Does the calculator know each casino's rules?
Only the figures in the examples, which are quoted from each casino's terms with a link to the source. Everything else is your input. Game weighting, excluded games and bonus caps differ by offer, so check the bonus terms before you rely on a result.
Is the total to wager the amount I will lose?
No. It is the total value of bets you must place, and winnings are bet again along the way. What you can expect to lose depends on the games, which is why the calculator only estimates a loss if you enter a return-to-player percentage yourself.
